Spring Cleaning in March!

Today we were informed the club would be closing in March to allow for extensive cleaning and refurbishing. This is apparently an annual event in preparation for the busy Easter/Spring season followed by Summer.

The only thing my daughter wanted for her 17th birthday was to visit Disneyland, since we had not been in about 5 years. My boyfriend's boss suggested we eat at Club 33 when we got there. I never knew about Club 33 and have recently discovered the mystique and have been drawn, almost obsessed with reading about it. How in the world would I ever get reservations? After spending several days enraptured with the stories and history, my boyfriend came home to tell me that we have reservations for Club 33 for lunch for my daughter's birthday! HOLY COW! His boss is a member. (My incredibly glib and secretive boyfriend knew all along that he would secure reservations!) Now I have a question...our reservations are for Monday, March 17th. Club 33won't be closed for Spring Cleaning, will it? I hope not...I am not sure who will be more crushed---my daughter or ME!

Hello,
Oh, I wouldn't worry!!! Our contact had informed us the club was going to be closed for March, but she may have been mistaken about which exact dates and when the club was going to re-open. Your reservation date should be safe and secure. I'll see if I contact her to confirm the dates. I know they like to freshen up before Spring break, so the timing sounds reasonable.
I hope you have a wonderful time at the club and please feel free to submit a photo to the site, we'll be happy to post it immediately.
Thanks again!

Thank you for the reassurance. I didn't think we would have been able to make a reservation if it had been closed, but I guess I just needed confirmation. I am thrilled beyond words and will certainly share photos upon our return. Thank you again for getting back to me and for this website.

Thank you so much for understanding, I hope you have a wonderful time! The lunch is very enjoyable, I love the Lamb Osso Bucco. Be sure not to eat that morning, as you'll definitely want to fill up on crab claws and misc. chilled appetizers. Years ago that had a wonderfully enjoyable hot pasta table, cooked your way while you watched. I've always hoped they would bring that feature back, but it was probably a bit too labor intensive.
The dessert table is also a feature you don't want to miss. The macaroons are terrific as are the smores martinis.
Thanks again for visiting our site, it's a pleasure blogging with you.

I am not a gigantic fan of lamb, so what would be second on your recommendation list? A few years ago I had gastric bypass surgery and as a previous size 24, could have eaten three meals. Now, at a size 4, with a stomach the size of a handball, I am not sure the meal will be well-spent on me. Flavors of food, I am still able to enjoy, but the quantities I consume do not exceed more than a few ounces. So...what shall I choose, that is small and tasty? It will certainly be interesting riding rides at Disneyland and be able to fit compfortably in the small seats. I haven't been able to do that in many years! I can't wait! Loving food was always a HUGE problem for me...no pun intended. Gosh, I am excited!

Hello,
Wow, congratulations on the surgery, it's terrific to hear the procedure was successful and you're doing well.
This is wonderful news. You must feel like a new person.
Well, as for food, the halibut is very good and my daughter loved the Kurobuta Pork Chop.
I hope you're able to enjoy a small sampling of the many different items the club offers, I'm sorry to hear your food capacity is low, but it's certainly a price worth paying for a long and happy life.
Take care, e-mail any time!!

I am visiting Disneyland this weekend with a young friend, age 12, who has been diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a rare, malignant form of brain cancer. He was diagnosed 5 years ago and has been through two surgeries already. The cancer has spread, however, to his brain stem and we don't know how long he will last.

I thought it would be special if I could take him, his aunts and uncles to Club 33. To do this, though, I need to find someone who is a member and who would be willing to place on on their guest list. Easy, right?

Is there anyone out there who is a member and would be willing to designate Louis Lawrence and his family as guests for the day of March 8th? Please?

Here is information about Louis and his illness. Thank you, anyone, for your generosity: http://web.mac.com/judylillian/Louis/Welcome.html
